Emmanuel O. Ojo
Dr. Emmanuel O. Ojo is currently a Senior Lecturer and was a one-time Head, Department of Political Science at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria between 1 August 2004 and from September to July 2006. He has published widely on democratization, political communication, federalism and civil-military relations. His noted works include: 'The New federal Capital Territory as an Integrative Mechanism in Nigeria', Indian Journal of Politics, vol. XXXII Nos. 1 & 2, 1998; 'The Military and Political Transition in Nigeria: An Indepth Analysis of General Babangida's Transition Porgramme (1985-1993), Journal of Political and Military Sociology, Vol. 28 No. 1 (Summer) 2000; and 'The Mass Media and the Challenges of Sustainable Democratic Values in Nigeria: Possibilities and Limitations', Media, Culture and Society; Vol. 25, 2003; 'Taming the Monster: Demilitarization and Democratisation in Nigeria", in Armed forces and Society, January 2006 Issue, Vol. 32 No. 2. He was Guest Editor for the Special Issue on Nigeria's 2007 general elections (Journal of African Elections Vol. 6 No. 2, October 2007) a publication of EISA, Johannesburg, South Africa. He equally edited Challenges of Sustainable Demcoracy in Nigeria, John Archers PublIshers, Ibadan, Nigeria, 2006. His latest book in press is Federalism and Integrative Mechanisms in Nigeria.
